About Women and War in the Twentieth Century and the Schlesinger Library: A Guided Tour of the Collections
This program focuses on the use of the Schlesinger Library collection to research and understand the role of women in the war zone in the twentieth century. The panel addresses topics ranging from the history of gender and war to the phenomenon of women terrorists. A private, guided tour of the Schlesinger Library follows the panel. Representatives from the Schlesinger demonstrate the rigorous work that goes into documenting the lives of women and how such documentation provides not only a window into women's wartime experiences, but also a fuller understanding of war itself.
