In consideration of Fenway Park's tapestry wall, the Green Monster, and the history of its players, Ms. Smith argues
that the groundbreaking stadium changes have been significant. She describes Fenway as a trend-setter, explaining that "one of the
things about Fenway that every new ballpark has tried to emulate, aside from the obvious magic of the playing field and the fans being
close to the game, is the magic of what goes on around the ballpark, and as you walk over to Fenway today..., the magic of what happens
on the street and the carnival, festival-like atmosphere is something that isn't easily replicated, but every team has certainly tried."
This is, in part, an acknowledgment to the fans that their investment in the game is both recognized and appreciated.
Fenway Park has undergone some recent changes that will prove essential to its future success. New buildings have been
acquired, a parking lot has been added, new ramps make the park more compliant with building codes, the concession menu is expanding,
and the front office staff has skyrocketed from five to 105 staff members. These changes will all contribute to maintaining the magic
and the lore of Fenway Park.
