Richard T. Lee, M.D., is Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Associate Professor in the Division of Health Sciences and Technology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

In his presentation, Dr. Lee asks why prevention of heart disease in healthy people is so difficult, especially considering the abundance of prescriptions that treat patients who already suffer from heart disease. Dr. Lee weighs the values of different prevention regimens; including medicines such as beta blockers, ACE inhibitors, and anti-platelet agents; cholesterol level maintenance; diet; and exercise.
