Jerome P. Richie, M.D., is Chief of the Department of Urology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and since 1987, Chairman of the Harvard Program in Urology and the Elliott Carr Cutler Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and received his MD from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

In his presentation, Dr. Richie describes the function of the prostate, the factors such as genetic make up that could contribute to prostate cancer, as well as options for treatment, detection, and surgical intervention.
