Olive Ann Beech: Aerospace Pioneer
Mayo describes Olive Ann Beech as a business genius who, following the death of husband Walter Beech in 1950, took control of Beech Aircraft and, with dignity and authority, projected an executive style that commanded respect in a male-dominated industry. In doing so, Beech carved out a niche for herself in the aerospace industry, where she is regarded as a pioneer. With the help of her daughters, the exhibition curators were able to organize a recreation of her office and display model planes, photographs, and aviation industry awards.
